Vivian Song

For Seattle School Board, District 5

I am a current Seattle Public Schools parent, finance professional, and former School Board Director running to bring accountable, community-rooted leadership to our schools.

Public education should reflect the values of our city: equity, excellence, and transparency.

With experience, accountability, and a deep belief in the power of public education, I am ready to help lead us forward.

Why I’m Running

On the heels of an ill-fated mass school closure plan and yet another new Superintendent search, we need a school board that can restore trust. I will work with community to develop a long-term vision to make our schools serve every Seattle child with the options and opportunities they deserve. Seattle Public Schools cannot cut its way to excellence. With a $100 million budget deficit, my first hand experience as a school board director and my professional financial expertise is essential now. I am ready to work for you and more importantly our 49,000 students from Day One.
