Vivian Song

For Seattle School Board, District 5

I'm running for School Board Director so I can help build a better future for our district's 49,000 students. I'm a mother to current Seattle Public School students, finance professional, and former school board director. I have the experience to lead Seattle Public Schools forward.

I believe in equity, excellence, and accountability.

Why I’m Running

On the heels of an ill-fated mass school closure plan and yet another new Superintendent search, we need a school board that can restore trust. I will work with community to develop a long-term vision to make our schools serve every Seattle child with the options and opportunities they deserve. Seattle Public Schools cannot cut its way to excellence. With a $100 million budget deficit, my first hand experience as a school board director and my professional financial expertise is essential now. I am ready to work for you and more importantly our 49,000 students from Day One.
